Bodin Named Acting Director of OLC

Erik O. Bodin has been named the Acting Director of the Virginia Department of Health’s (VDH) Office of Licensure and Certification (OLC) following the resignation of Chris Durrer.  Providers are familiar with him as the Director of the Virginia Certificate of Public Need (COPN) program.  The OLC acts as the agent for the VDH in administering five state licensing programs: hospitals, nursing facilities, outpatient surgical hospitals, home care organizations and hospice programs.  In addition, the OLC is the state survey agency for Medicare and Medicaid, administers the state's certification and registration programs for Managed Care Health Insurance Plans licensees (MCHIPs) and Private Review Agents (PRAs), and administers the Certificate of Public Need (COPN) program.
