Fact Sheets Available about Compliance with Labor Laws

Labor Laws

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) governs workplace issues such as minimum wage, overtime, hours worked and child labor.  Compliance with these provisions can be challenging given the fast-paced, 24/7 nature of long term care settings.

U.S. Department of Labor has several resources discussing FLSA compliance that are tailored specifically to long term care providers including nursing facility and assisted living supervisors, managers and administrators.  Members are reminded that these resources are available to help educate facility managers and administrators about compliance with the FLSA and common issues that arise in the long term care workplace.
