Matt Mansell Joins VHCA Staff

Matt Mansell joined the Virginia Health Care Association (VHCA) staff as the new Vice President of Government and Regulatory Affairs on August 3.  Mr. Mansell will serve as VHCA’s primary advocate before the General Assembly and Virginia’s regulatory agencies.  As needed, he will also work on federal legislative and regulatory issues.  

Mr. Mansell brings to VHCA a wealth of Virginia political expertise and health policy knowledge.  He has led the government relations team at the Medical Society of Virginia since 2010 and served as the executive director of the society’s political action committee.  He is an effective, well respected lobbyist.  During the most recent legislative session, he played a key role in securing passage of a bill to reform the health plan prior authorization process.

Mr. Mansell has made politics his career since graduating from Georgetown University.  He has worked on various state-level campaigns and managed a state legislative caucus.  He is skilled in legislative strategy development, political fundraising, communications and grassroots advocacy.
