VHCA This Week

The Virginia Health Care Association’s (VHCA) advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.  Take a look at our activities this week:

  • 7/21 — Betty DeOrnellas of Sentara Meadowview Terrace, Joeylynn Patton of CCR, and VHCA staff participated in the VHCA – Medicare/Medicaid Plan Care Coordination work group meeting.
  • 7/22 — Met with a representative of Rx Partnership, which works on medication access issues, to discuss access to generic medications.
  • 7/22 — Held a biweekly meeting with Anthem representatives to discuss the Commonwealth Coordinated Care (CCC) program and managed care issues.
  • 7/23 — Hosted the VCAL Symposium.
  • 7/24 — Hosted the Richmond District Meeting.
