VHCA This Week

The Virginia Health Care Association’s (VHCA) advocacy work on behalf of long term care providers is a year-round job.  While the General Assembly session may get most of the attention, the meetings and outreach we conduct with legislators, agency officials, and other stakeholders beyond session can have lasting impact on our ability to be effective advocates.

We’ll be using this space to highlight VHCA staff and leadership’s participation in meetings and events that are critical to the profession.  Take a look at our activities this week:

  • 7/13—Joined the weekly Commonwealth Coordinated Care (CCC) nursing facility provider call.
  • 7/14—Participated in a conference call hosted by Palmetto GBA for the Part A Provider Outreach and Education Advisory Group.
  • 7/15—Met with Secretary of Health and Human Resources William A. Hazel Jr., M.D. and Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) staff to discuss VHCA priorities.
  • 7/15—The VHCA Tidewater District held its quarterly meeting at Beth Sholom Village in Virginia Beach.
  • 7/16—Met with Del. Chris Peace (R-Hanover) to discuss VHCA priorities.
  • 7/16—Attended a political fundraiser for House Majority Leader Del. Kirk Cox (R-Colonial Heights).
