Emergency Preparedness: Active Shooter Information Available as Resource

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) has recently shared a report posted to the Public Health Emergency website on “Emergency Preparedness: Active Shooter information”.  The report (Incorporating Active Shooter Planning into Health Care Facility Emergency Operations Plans) was developed with assistance from the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response’s (ASPR) Divisions of Health System Policy and Tactical Programs, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council.  The document shows how government and private sector partners can work together to benefit healthcare and public health communities.  It is primarily designed to encourage facilities to consider how to better prepare for an active shooter incident and includes comprehensive guidance.
