REGISTER ONLINE TODAY - MDS Assessment Process Program Scheduled for October 15 in Richmond

A one-day seminar, offering five CEUs, has been scheduled in Richmond for October 15th.  MDS Assessment Process, presented by Ms. Judy Wilhide Brandt, is designed to assist the interdisciplinary team in recognizing critical quality of care issues during the MDS assessment process so proper follow up and documentation occurs to mitigate risk of a negative survey outcome.

Ms. Brandt will discuss factors to be considered when scheduling MDS assessments used to calculate Quality Measures (QMs).  Attendees will learn how to understand the data presented in quality measures to conduct quality monitoring activities effectively.  The presenter will explain which MDS items are triggers for Quality Measures that lead to the most serious survey citations in Virginia.   She will explore how the Quality Measures are to be used in internal year-round quality monitoring activities and explain how surveyors use them to select a survey sample in Virginia.  This program will examine common quality of care citations in Virginia and explore how using the RAI process to include Care Area Assessments (CAAs) in the care planning process can assist in avoiding negative resident outcomes.
