HOLD THE DATE: MDS Assessment Process Program Scheduled for October 15

Join the Virginia Health Care Association for a one-day seminar scheduled for October 15th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond - Midlothian.  The seminar is designed to assist the interdisciplinary team in recognizing critical quality of care issues during the MDS assessment process so proper follow up and documentation occurs to mitigate risk of negative survey outcome.  Judy Wildhide Brandt, Wilhide Consulting, Inc. will explain which MDS items are triggers for Quality Measures that lead to the most serious survey citations in Virginia.

  2. Understand how triggering the triad of Weight Loss, Hydration and Pressure Ulcer QMs can affect the survey outcome without proper documentation and follow up
  3. Discuss how MDS scheduling affects Quality Measures
  4. Demonstrate proper documentation to support critical item coding on the MDS to mitigate misunderstandings during the survey
  5. Examine ways to use your QMs monthly to ensure quality outcomes and have no surprises during annual survey.
