Recall of Emergency Light Fixture

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has released an advisory announcing that Lithonia Lighting has recalled emergency lights due to a fire hazard.  These emergency light fixtures may be used in nursing centers and assisted living centers.  The recall information provides a photograph of the fixtures as well as a description of the potential danger and remedy.  The announcement notes that the circuit board can overheat and cause the fixture to melt, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.  According to the notice, this recall involves the Quantum® series ELM and ELM2 emergency light fixtures.  Consumers should contact Lithonia Lighting to receive detailed instructions on how to locate the circuit board and series name and to order a free repair kit, which includes a new circuit board.
