Emergency Preparedness June Workshop for LTC Facilities

Emergency Preparedness training, sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health & the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association will be offered  in three different locations for facilities in the Richmond District area in June.  The FREE one-day course is tailored specifically to the unique needs of a long term care facility in the event of an emergency.  All long term care facility employees will benefit from this valuable training.

The training exercise will include a four-hour guided discussion tabletop exercise professionally facilitated, and will allow each facility to reference their current Emergency Operations Plans and consult with coworkers and other facilities to practice responding to a scenario.  Each portion of the exercise covers the components of the National Preparedness Goals and application of the Incident Command System (ICS) concepts. The workshops will be held on:

  • Wednesday, June 4th at the Union Train Station, 103 River Street, Petersburg, VA 23804
  • Thursday, June 5th at the Henrico County Public Safety Training Center, 7701 E. Parham Road, Henrico, VA 23294
  • Friday, June 6th at the Comfort Inn, 419 N. Agnew Street, Burkeville, VA 23922
