Deadline Extended for ALFs to Meet Quality Initiative Goals

The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) has notified us that members still have time to be recognized for meeting NCAL's Quality Initiative goals! The submission deadline for the NCAL Quality Initiative Recognition Program has been extended to Thursday, May 15, 2014.  (This extension does not apply to skilled nursing members of AHCA.  Only assisted living members of NCAL will be allowed to submit Quality Initiative success until May 15th.)  This gives you more time to join the National Patient Safety Organization for Assisted Living and securely submit your 30-day hospital readmission and antipsychotic use data. You can then confirm with NCAL that you met either of these two goals.

It also allows you to participate in NCAL's Vacancy, Retention and Turnover (VRT) Survey to demonstrate your success with NCAL's staff stability goal. To participate in the VRT survey logon on to NCAL's VRT Survey.   In addition you show how at least 90% of your customers (residents and family members) are willing to recommend your community to others. Submit your customer satisfaction results.

The more goals you achieve, the more recognition you receive. All members recognized through the program will be honored at AHCA/NCAL's 2015 Quality Symposium in Austin, Texas. Click here to learn more about the recognition levels.
