Train the Trainer for Instructors of ALF Registered Medication Aides Program Scheduled for May 20th

A one-day Medication Aid training workshop has been scheduled for May 20th.  The program is designed to provide instructors of Registered Medication Aide Programs with program planning skills and an understanding of the regulatory requirements for Medication Aides in assisted living facilities. Writing measurable learning objectives, organizing mandated curriculum, developing lesson plans and evaluating learning of students are among the objectives covered in the training.  Participants will have an opportunity to observe, practice and critique a variety of instructional strategies.

All instructors of the approved Medication Aide Training Programs must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Pharmacist and must complete a Train the Trainer course for Medication Aide Training.  The VHCA/VCAL’s “Train the Trainer” program is designed to provide the requisite information on teaching adult learners and will qualify RNs, LPNs and Pharmacists to teach the Medication Aide program for Registered Medication Aides in assisted living facilities.

Train the Trainer for ALF Instructors of Registered Medication Aides is scheduled for May 20th in the VHCA/VCAL office.  Brochure and registration information is available online.
