Prepare Your Facility for ICD-10 Coding

Recently, Health and Human Services CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) Administrator Marilyn Tavenner told attendees at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) technology conference that the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition (ICD-10) will go into effect this fall on October 1, 2014, with no further delays.

To help our members prepare for this transition, VHCA is offering a two-day program on April 9th and 10th in Richmond to train providers with information for this mandatory transition. It is time to be proactive and start getting ready for the October 1st implementation.  Each attendee will receive a copy of the ICD-10 Coding Manual valued at $99.95 as part of the registration fee.  Because the Manual will be utilized as an integral part of the training session, registration and payment need to be received no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2014 to ensure we have the correct number of ICD-10-CM manuals for participants. Complete information on the program is available here.
