Training Opportunity for AHCA Quality Award Applicants

Time and space are running out to register for the December 4th and 5th training on AHCA’s National Quality Award Program.  VHCA is pleased to offer a training opportunity at NO CHARGE to members to encourage participation in AHCA’s National Quality Award Program.  The sessions, taught by Wendy M. Walter, MA, LNHA and Tammy Kelly, PT, LNHA, RAC-CT, AHCA Quality Award Examiners, will introduce participants to the process of applying for an award and offer guidance on building successful applications for the Bronze and Silver awards.

Why get involved? AHCA research shows that Silver and Gold Quality Award recipients are more likely to have fewer survey deficiencies, better quality measures and higher satisfaction scores than the national average. The Quality Award program can also help centers prepare for CMS’ impending QAPI regulations and meet the four AHCA/NCAL Quality Initiative goals! Highlights of the sessions include:

December 4th
9:00 – 11:30 am:  An introduction to AHCA’s National Quality Award Program - an introduction to the program’s objectives and criteria and how a commitment to the process can provide a leadership framework for operational success for years to come.
12:30 – 4:00 pm:  Understanding the Bronze Criteria - introduction to the AHCA Bronze criteria and begin developing the framework for a successful application.

December 5th
9:00 – 12:00 pm:  Understanding the Silver Criteria (recommended for FIRST time applicants at Silver level and Repeat Silver applicants) - develop the framework for interpreting the criteria and begin crafting a successful application.  Constructive tidbits to consider and pitfalls to avoid when writing a Silver level application.
1:00 – 5:00 pm:  Understanding your feedback report and using it to build a successful application (limited to REPEAT applicants at the Silver level or recent Silver winners).

The sessions will be limited to 25 participants so register today to guarantee your place at the training.
