REMINDER to Register for the 2013 Winter Legislative Conference & Reserve Hotel Room

Register now for the 2013 Winter Legislative Conference scheduled for February 12 & 13 at the Omni Richmond Hotel.   The one constant providers can count on in health care is change!  As we enter a new year, long term care providers face unprecedented challenges in the delivery of care to increasingly frail and sick resident populations.  In this year’s General Assembly Session, legislators will address Virginia’s budget needs and other measures affecting nursing and assisted living facilities.  Proposed legislation before the 2013 General Assembly could potentially add additional regulatory burdens to the post-acute and long term care sector.

Time has been set aside on Tuesday morning to visit legislators to make our voices heard within the political and policy arena. We urge members to make appointments now to meet with their Delegate and Senator – face-to-face meetings are one of the most effective options for delivering our message about the critical need for adequate funding for long term care.

Plan to attend this year’s Legislative Conference and

  • Learn about legislation in the 2013 General Assembly that could affect your facility’s operations;
  • Hear about  Virginia’s Proposed Dual Demonstration;
  • Understand the importance of positioning your operations to survive and prosper in the new post-acute environment; and
  • Earn 9 hours of NAB approved continuing education credits for nursing home and assisted living providers.

The Conference Brochure and online registration is now available on the VHCA website.  A block of rooms has been reserved at the Omni Richmond Hotel for $147.00 single or double (plus tax).  Reserve your hotel room here or by calling the hotel directly at 804.344.7000 or toll free at 800.843.6664.  Reservation deadline is Friday, January 25, 2013.  Please remember to identify yourself as a VHCA conference participant.
