2012 Regirer Nurse Scholarship Recipients

For 2012, the Commonwealth Long Term Care Foundation is awarding $55,125 in Regirer Nursing Scholarships to 35 recipients employed in Virginia long term care facilities.  Each awardee will receive $1,500 toward the cost of their nursing education.  To receive the award each recipient completed an extensive application, was personally interviewed by a member of the Foundation’s Nurse Scholarship Committee, and agreed to work in a member long term care facility after graduation.  Three of the recipients will receive $2,375 each to be used towards the Nurse Leadership Institute (NLI).  The mission of the NLI is to inspire, teach and empower nurse managers seeking to grow as leaders and become catalysts for change.

Since the inception of the Commonwealth Long Term Care Foundation in 1997, scholarships totaling $432,175 to 306 recipients have been awarded.  The Foundation is a corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable, scientific or educational purposes.
