Restorative Nursing – The Missing Link Scheduled for May 24th

The Virginia Health Care Association has scheduled a program, Restorative Nursing – The Missing Link, for May 24th at the Holiday Inn Koger Conference Center in Richmond.

This program will focus on preventing functional declines and enhancing quality of life through a restorative nursing program. The required components of a restorative nursing program defined in the updated RAI manual will be reviewed, as well as additional information supporting why restorative nursing is a critical aspect to individualized care programs and facility success. The regulations, clinical benefits and operational/financial benefits will be addressed along with discussion and review of the implementation of an effective restorative nursing program. The MDS 3.0 April 1st coding changes and the impact on reimbursement will be important components of the discussion.

An effective restorative nursing program can achieve many goals, including improving residents’ quality of care with continued improvement following intensive therapy, as well as helping facilities achieve financial benefits. Participants will learn how to position restorative nursing programs with best practices that improve residents’ physical and mental health while enhancing staff morale and retention.
