Congratulations to the 2013 Regirer Nurse Scholarship Recipients

The Commonwealth Long Term Care Foundation has awarded $35,800 in Regirer Nursing Scholarships to date in 2013 to 23 recipients employed in Virginia long term care facilities.  There are five additional applicants pending acceptance into a nursing program or Board of Nursing approval of the nursing program.  Each awardee will receive $1,500 toward the cost of their nursing education.  To receive the award each recipient completed an extensive application, was personally interviewed by a member of the Foundation’s Nurse Scholarship Committee, and agreed to work in a member long term care facility after graduation.  One of the recipients will receive $2,800 to be used towards the Nurse Leadership Institute (NLI).  The mission of the NLI is to inspire, teach and empower nurse managers seeking to grow as leaders and become catalysts for change.

Since the inception of the Commonwealth Long Term Care Foundation in 1997, it has awarded Regirer Nursing Scholarships totaling $470,975 to 349 scholarship recipients. The Foundation is a corporation organized and operated exclusively for charitable, scientific or educational purposes.
