The Virginia Center for Assisted Living’s annual Symposium is a one-day annual event designed to bring Virginia’s assisted living providers together to focus on issues, challenges and best practices.  This year’s Symposium will help facilities achieve excellence with updates on the Virginia and Washington regulatory scenes and a discussion of emerging quality initiatives.  Presentations will focus on legal and regulatory implications for ALFs, including identification of risk factors in the development of pressure ulcers in ALF residents and effective medication management protocols in assisted living facilities to avoid common errors in administering medications.  The importance of documentation as a quality tool for an effective medication management program will be highlighted along with an understanding of the litigation process following an incident in a facility.
The 2013 event is designed to help assisted living professionals achieve excellence and success in their day-to-day operations while learning effective management practices in critical areas.
