LAST CHANCE to REGISTER for the Survey Program Scheduled for January 16th

This full-day program will review Virginia’s top deficiencies and examine trends in citations captured from deficiency reports conducted in 2013. 

Survey trends collected over recent years have confirmed a significant growth and continuing increase in deficiencies related to care and management of residents with diabetes.  A specific focus of the program will be on the management of diabetes from the clinical, dietary and best practice perspectives.  

Participants will:

  • Examine Virginia’s top deficiencies in 2013 and reasons for citations
  • Explore opportunities for integrating data from VHCA’s SMART [Survey Management and Resource Tool] Program in quality improvement efforts
  • Review current standards of care and new treatment protocols for insulin administration, monitoring of blood sugars and changes in dietary allowances
  • Discuss the Interdisciplinary Team members’ roles in diabetic management
